According to a Call of Duty blog post, Season 5 will commence on August 24, 2022, at 5PM BST (9AM PT). The update follows the Vanguard Season 5 update which launches on August 23 at the same time.

If a preloading option appears, PlayStation users should be able to download the update a few days before the new season begins. The update should appear automatically but if it doesn't, highlight the game tile, press "Start, then select "Check for Update." This should trigger the download.
