Fans of the Dead Space series are clamouring for a new entry into the series - so we'll answer the question: is The Callisto Protocol connected to Dead Space?

The co-creator of Dead Space, Glen Schofield, returns with his new company Striking Distance Studios, to give us the Callisto Protocol - a sci-fi horror in a space setting where things go awry. We expect suspense, jump scares, and plenty of almost alien action in this new title, which is out now.

Is The Callisto Protocol connected to Dead Space?

It would appear that the two games are two separate IPs, with no lore crossover or anything linking them together. But that doesn't mean they're not thematically similar, and appealing to the same audience. After all, if you're good at something as creator Mr. Schofield is, why stop doing it?

The Callisto Protocol is a survival horror game set inside a prison on one of Jupiter's moons - Callisto, to be precise - 300 years in the future from where we are now. You, as the protagonist Jacob Lee, are trapped inside, and there are mutated monstrous humans coming to get you from every angle.

Though not directly linked, The Callisto Protocol will surely appeal to those wanting a new Dead Space title. It is said to be scarier, and darker, than the Dead Space offerings we've previously had, but due to the similar themes and story, it's basically like another sequel we never got. Consider it a spiritual successor, and you're on the right lines.
