Stardew Valley best mods

Stardew Valley in itself is a brilliant game and loved by many. The solo developer title has become a must-have for both dedicated gamers and casual farmers alike. Even though it's amazing as is, like almost every other video game out there, mods can make a world of difference. We've rounded up some of the best mods you can get, so let's dive into our list of favourites.

Stardew Valley - Best mods (2023)

NPC Map Locations

If there's one thing that irks the Stardew Valley community, it's finding the locations of various NPCs. There's a total of 45 different characters in the farming RPG, and it'd take an incredibly impressive memory to know where they all were at any given time.

They're never in the same place as the day before, and depending on the changing seasons, their routine may well alter to reflect the weather. It's annoying, right?

Well, now you don't have to pull your hair out any longer, just download the NPC Map Location. This mod will allow you to check the map and find exactly where the character is at that time.

Movement speed

The walking speed in Stardew Valley is pretty awful, especially early on in the game. Sure, you can get a stable and horse later on, and you can also ingest various different foods and drinks for speed buffs. But this mod eliminates the need for any of that. It will allow you to get around the map a lot faster than before as well as increase the charging time of your hoe and watering can.

Gift Taste Helper

If you're a long-time player you likely know what your favourite villager loves (and even if you don't, we have a gift guide for each NPC in Pelican Town that you can look to!). But pair that with the Gift Taste Helper mod, and you can access information about all the gifts you've given villagers over time, what they love, and more.

Save Anywhere

If you've ever sat down to just chill and play Stardew, only for something else to come up in the middle of your gaming session, then you're not alone. It's a trial that many gamers face, and the major issue with this in Stardew Valley, is that in order to save the game, players will need to sleep in their bed. So if you're halfway through your day in-game, this can be a little problematic and a virtual waste of your time. With this mod, you no longer have to worry, you can save anywhere, any time.

Look Up Anything

Look Up Anything is an absolute godsend. By simply hitting the F1 key you can look up all relevant information about anything in-game. For example, you can do it with your animals to find out if they are cold, your relationship with them, their sale price, and even what sort of goods they are going to produce. Hover over crops to find out how long until they can be harvested, and so much more!

Enemy Health Bars

This mod is pretty self-explanatory, as it gives enemies... Health bars. Now you can visibly see whether it's worth trying to kill an enemy whilst on low health.

So there you have it, that's our list of our favourite mods for making Stardew Valley even easier, and somehow, even more enjoyable to play. We've got loads more mods that add a touch more chaos to the serenity of Pelican Town, like adding Pokémon, marrying Morris, and even turning things X-rated with the best sex mods.

Whatever floats your boat, there's sure to be a mod for it!
