Is Sons of the Forest cross platform?
As of right now, there are no confirmed plans for Sons of the Forest to launch on other consoles or PC platforms, meaning cross platform play or cross save capabilities aren't on the cards right now. Early access to the Sons of Forest is currently available on Steam only, but it might change in the future.
This being said, we can look at the rollout plan of The Forest for a clue about how the next months will shape up. The Forest initially launched into early access way back in May 2014. Then, four years later, version 1.0 was released on Steam on April 2018.
It had a huge launch and those years of development seemed to give people a lot of faith in it. It was then released on PlayStation 4 in November 2018. If all this information is anything to go off, it seems likely that the team are planning to launch Sons of the Forest on other platforms at a later date, but the early access launch is the main focus.
If many play and support the game over the coming years, it would make sense to see it arrive on PlayStation, Xbox, and more.
The Game Preview program on Xbox has been used in a similar way to Steam Early Access in recent year. If the team decides to work on an Xbox version this time, it could be out before the early access period on Steam ends toward the latter part of the year.
Will Sons of The Forest come to Nintendo Switch?
Unfortunately, it seems unlikely we will ever see a Nintendo Switch launch for the game. We may be years off a console release date, and the Nintendo Switch is already starting to show its age.

Though we likely won't see a Switch launch, there's a chance Sons of the Forest will come out for whatever the next Nintendo console is.
