Is Shipment coming to Modern Warfare 2? That's a question on the minds of several players looking for the small map known for its incredibly fast pace and all-out chaos. Infinity Ward has already said a number of classic maps are on their way to its latest title but intel on the return of Shipment remains a mystery.

First appearing in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Shipment has featured in numerous Call of Duty titles including World War II. Many utilise the map to rank up as fast as possible and with no sign of it in the sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare, are there any plans on it returning?

Is Shipment in Modern Warfare 2?

At the time of writing, Shipment isn't one of the ten maps available to play in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. However, a leak from November 2021 claims the map is making its way to the game at some point.

It appears the above leak was accurate after all. Shipment returns to Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer on December 14 as part of the Modern Warfare 2 season 1 reloaded update.

When is Shipment coming to Modern Warfare 2?

There's always a possibility of Shipment returning as part of Modern Warfare 2 Season 1. The first season of post-launch content will contain brand-new weapons, the first battle pass of the cycle, and the return of two "fan-favourite" maps.

Infinity Ward hasn't revealed further information on the maps but there's a high chance it could be Shipment. It's not a guarantee but considering its immense popularity amongst the community, it would make a great addition to the map pool.

It appears the arrival of Shipment is a matter of when and not if. If leaks are to be believed, the small map is one of several maps from 2009's Modern Warfare 2 and other titles to arrive as post-launch content.

Modern Warfare 2 season 1 start date

Season 1 of Modern Warfare 2 begins on November 16, 2022 meaning it's not long until we find out more about the classic maps returning. Even if it's not Shipment, Infinity Ward is bound to reintroduce another popular map from the Modern Warfare series.

Alongside the potential return of Shipment, Season 1 will contain new Operators, weapons, and much more.
