What is the best Genshin Impact Traveler build? It's a hefty question, given they can use four elements now, but we've run through the best weapons, artifacts, and teams to use the Traveler in.

The Traveler is the playable protagonist character. At the beginning of the game, both twin siblings are traveling throughout the universe, until an Unknown God ambushes you, captures your sibling, and seals your ways of travel leaving them stranded on Teyvat, thus beginning the story of Genshin Impact. On the battlefield, the Traveler is a versatile unit that can act as Support.

How Do I Get Traveler in Genshin?

The Traveler is the protagonist of the game, so you don’t have to spend any wishes to get them!

What Are the Best Traveler Builds?

The Traveler shines as a Support unit due to their proficiency to trigger reactions. They’re versatile since they can change between Anemo, Electro, and Geo elements, bringing uniqueness to their constellations, skills, and talents. Sadly, the Traveler’s abilities are more useful in terms of exploration than combat, but they’re still a decent unit.

Below is the best Traveler build right now. You can keep reading to find out the hows and whys of this particular Traveler build, but if you've used this character before, you'll quickly understand the thought process behind their best weapon and artifact choices.

Traveler Support Build

While Skyward Blade and Festering Desire are the best options, they can be difficult to obtain, so if you still didn’t get any of them, the Favonius Sword is a great alternative.

The artifact setup is pretty straightforward, Noblesse Oblige for Burst damage boost and the other two pieces will depend on which version of the character are we playing. If you don’t want to keep that much attention to it, Gladiator’s Finale is also a great alternative.

What are the best team comps for the Traveler?

Since the traveler shines through the use of Elemental Reactions, you want a team that can adapt to any of their versions. For that very reason, we have multiple options for a possible team comp. Bennet, Sucrose and Barbara can work as supports that also provide reactions and healing, Xingqiu, Fischl and Ningguang can develop as Sub-DPS, and as Main DPS you can choose between Eula, Hu Tao or Zhongli.

What are the best weapons for the Traveler?

Weapons like the Skyward Blade or Festering Desire are the best options for this build, but you can also find a more affordable and equally good alternative in the form of the Favonius Sword. Last but not least, if you’re looking for a craftable option, you can obtain the Prototype Rancour if you still don’t have any of the former.

What are the best Artifacts for the Traveler?

Depending on which build you choose to make, you'll be best off choosing Noblesse Oblige, and an elemental set: Archaic Petra, Viridescent Venerer, Thundering Fury, and now Deepwood Memories sets will buff each of the Traveler's available elements.

How many of these you choose to equip on them will depend on your gameplay, so it is suggested that you test different builds, see how they work as mixed or full sets and you can decide then.

What are the Traveler's Skills and Talents?

Traveler shines as a Support, with offensive skills that will vary in effect depending on the version we're using. However, something they all share is their usefulness at triggering elemental reactions, so that's something that you must always keep in mind.

What are the Traveler's constellations?

If you get to pull Traveler multiple times, you will eventually reach a level of the constellation that will turn them into an excellent Support unit, with improvements on all their Skills and their respective cooldowns, making Traveler a great tool to support your party.

What are the Traveler's Ascension materials?

Ascending Traveler boosts their HP and Defense stats more than anything else, a welcomed improvement that makes them a great Support. Farming the necessary materials can take a bit, but for improving a unit as helpful as the Traveler is for your team it's worth the effort.

What are the Traveler's Talent level up materials?

An important part of building Traveler is remembering to level up their talents and abilities. The order in which you go about this will change slightly depending on the role you expect them to play in your team, but here's the most common Traveler talent upgrade order:

  • Elemental Burst
  • Elemental Skill
  • Normal Attack

Traveler Dendro materials

We're not sure yet which materials will be needed for the Dendro talents, and we assume they'll be Sumeru-specific. Once the update launches, we'll know more!
