When is the Dead Island 2 Steam release date?

Dead Island 2 was originally announced nine years ago back at E3 2014. Since then, we have received an entirely new generation of consoles and tonnes of zombie games. If you're looking for the Dead Island 2 Steam release date, this is what we know so far.

When is the Dead Island 2 Steam release date?

As of right now, there is no Steam release date for Dead Island 2. The game is planned to release with PC exclusivity on the Epic Games Store. It will be launching worldwide on April 21, 2023. This being said, exclusivity, like almost all of Epic's exclusive deals, is purely temporary. We don't know the specifics of the deal just yet, but it seems like it will stay on the Epic Games Store for a year, before making its way to Steam and other PC platforms.

For this reason, we think that Dead Island 2 will release on Steam around April 2024. By then, we have more updates and even some DLC. It seems likely that it will launch with a Game of the Year edition or some sort of special deal. As of right now, there is a Gold Edition of the game, so expansions are planned for the game.

They will also have bonus content at launch that you can get for preordering. As such, it's likely that the Steam release of Dead Island 2 will come with a launch discount of some kind. We will update you here as soon as we know more.
