Is Dead Island 2 on Xbox Game Pass?

With the game out in the open, fans are desperate to know whether Dead Island 2 is on Game Pass. After Dambuster Studios announced this game during Sony's 2014 E3 media briefing, Dead Island 2 will finally release on April 21, 2023. It has been a long ride since its announcement and final full release.

Is Dead Island 2 coming to Game Pass?

While it has been almost a decade since we first saw a glimpse of Dead Island 2, and one could expect a sort of retribution for fans of the franchise via inclusion on Microsoft's gaming subscription, unfortunately, Dead Island 2 will not be available on Game Pass on day one.

As of now, neither Dambuster Studios nor Deep Silver, the publisher, have mentioned any Game Pass inclusion. If a game as big as this was supposed to be released as a day one Game Pass title, then we would see the "Available on Game Pass" tag all over the place. This is not the case for Dead Island 2. Unfortunately, this will not happen, at least on day one.

Will Dead Island 2 ever be released on Game Pass?

While a day one Game Pass release is out of the conversation, there is a possibility that it will be included in the service down the line. Several titles are always included each month to provide an attractive sale for those that are interested in Game Pass. Surely, a title with such an internet and gaming history as Dead Island could become a big seller for the service, if things turn out to be good quality wise.

Furthermore, there is a big amount of precedent regarding the Dead Island franchise, since the original Dead Island was included, albeit for a time, on Game Pass. Not only that but thanks to the Gamescom 2022 Dead Island 2 announcement, the original game was made available for a week.
