How to Craft Perks

To craft perks, you need to explore each level/area you're in and find little collectibles called Components. After collecting enough Components you can spend them at Rocket's Workbench where he can create perks for you!

All you need to do is walk up to a Workbench and interact with it. Rocket will then appear and offer to build something for you. All you need to do is go through the list and pick which perk you want him to build.

Each perk will come at a price, some of them are cheap but some are expensive and some will cost you some of each type of Component that you find. This is why it's worth taking your time in each area to find as much as you can.

How To Find Components

Components can be found across most levels and areas but they're not always going to be easy to see. Quite often, you'll need to do a bit of exploring and puzzle-solving to reach the areas where they are.

Once you come across a Component pile they're really easy to spot both with and without Peter's Visor. If you do use his Visor, the piles will come up as a different colour so they will stand out from the rest of the area but you still need to find a way to get to them.

You can collect 2 different types of Components to collect. The spherical ones are rarer to find compared to the cylindrical components.

You can check how many components you have when you enter one of the workbenches as the number you have of each type will be displayed in the upper right-hand corner of your screen.

What Are Perks?

Perks are things that you can apply to Star-Lord to improve his technology but they will cost you Components. These can be anything from improving the cooldown rate of his Blasters or improving the recovery rate of his Shield.

Are the Perks for All of the Guardians?

No, the perks that you purchase are only applied to Star-Lord but the perks themselves make him a better teammate and leader for the rest of the team so they're still worth investing in.

Where Are Rocket’s Workbenches?

The easiest Workbench to find is the one that is in the main area of the Milano. This is Rocket's main workbench and you can often find him tinkering away at it between jobs but this is not the only place that has them.

They can be found across levels in different places, sometimes they're hidden but sometimes they're out in the open. However, the appearance of a seemingly obvious workbench can mean that there is a big wave of enemies coming up soon or a boss that you'll need to beat.

Picking up Components as you explore in Guardians of the Galaxy is worth it because the perks that they can be used to craft will help you on your journey. By purchasing perks for Star-Lord you're making him a stronger character but he's not the only Guardian, we have a guide on all character skills and how to unlock new skills so you can create the ultimate team!
