Will GTA 6 be at E3 2021?

It’s a question many have asked so far, fueled by some shaky speculations and claims from those reportedly having insider knowledge.

The truth, however, is no. It won’t be because GTA 6 is likely nowhere near being ready to show off in any form.

Insider reports suggest GTA 6 has only been in development for a few years, with on-and-off work done on the game since the mid-2010s.

Rockstar has also reportedly made several changes to its internal structure and project planning, to the point where it’s not even clear how much of GTA 6’s scope and narrative is already established.

Could GTA 6 Be at E3 2021?

Take-Two’s marketing budget suggests a 2023 release is currently planned, so we could see GTA 6 at E3 2022, though probably just a small part of it.

In 2020, Jason Schreier said his sources from Rockstar told him the developer planned on releasing an initial GTA 6 campaign before updating it with several expansions in the months following launch, not unlike what we see with online games, including GTA Online.

Whatever the case, we don’t know much (read: anything) about what to expect from GTA 6.

Some insiders label rumors about the so-called Project America “smoke and mirrors,” and Rockstar hasn’t let any details slip about the project so far.
