Rockstar recently revealed a first look at GTA Definitive Edition, showcasing three classic entries remastered for a new generation. While fans anticipate this nostalgia trip next month, many have wondered about the series' future.
A recent Rolling Stone interview with Snoop Dogg might give some hints as to what's to come, with the rapper claiming that hip-hop icon, Dr. Dre, is working on music for a GTA title.
Dr. Dre Is Reportedly Making Music for a GTA Game, Snoop Dogg Says
Though no details were given on which GTA project, Snoop Dogg states that the former NWA member has returned to the music studio:
I do know he’s in the studio. I do know he’s making great f****** music. And some of his music is connected to the GTA game that’s coming out. So I think that that will be the way that his music will be released, through the GTA video game.
Dr. Dre is no stranger to the GTA universe after the rapper made a brief cameo in GTA Online's Cayo Perico Heist update last year. So, the soundtrack being developed could very well be for an upcoming multiplayer expansion.
On the other hand, GTA 6's production is gaining traction, with a job listing last week hinting at the sixth episode's inclusion of destructible environments and dynamic visuals. It was previously leakedthat the next title also has an evolving map. With GTA 6 a few years off its supposed 2024/2025 release date, Dr. Dre could be preparing the soundtrack for this instalment.
However, this is all speculation and we'll inform you when we receive any updates. Other hip-hop moguls in the Wu-Tang Clan were in the gaming news last week, with the group reportedly lending their voice to a new Xbox game.
