It’s almost a decade old but GTA 5 continues to be one of the most played and bought games around, constantly making it to the top of digital sales on various online game stores, so expect more sales records to be broken when the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the title come out this year, especially if major changes are made to the already excellent online.

While GTA 5 is playable on a number of consoles and systems, mobile gamers are probably a bit bummed over that game not being on iOS, Android, or the Switch, especially since older GTA games like Vice City and San Andreas are available on them, but there is a way for Android players to play the game on their phones thanks to the Steam Link app.

First thing, make sure you have GTA 5 on Steam since this is the version you will be playing on your phone or tablet. Make sure that your phone or tablet is powerful enough to run games and has a decent internet connection.

Now, download Steam Link and pair it up with your Android device that you want to play GTA 5 with.

Pick ‘Start Playing,’ which should put your device on big picture mode and mirror your PC, where you can then pick GTA 5 and play it on your phone.

Steam Link isn’t the best way to play GTA 5, and if you already have a computer that can run it on Steam you might as well play it there, but for those that want this expansive adventure on a handheld, this is the best-case scenario. 

GTA 5 is available now on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, along with PS3 and Xbox 360 though those versions no longer receive updates for GTA Online.
