God of War: Ragnarok was one of the most highlighted games revealed in last week's PlayStation Showcase. Showcasing some of the game's characters, that included the protagonist Kratos, his teenage son Atreus, and Thor, played by Ryan Hurst of Sons of Anarchy fame.

Since then, new information's been revealed by the game's director, Eric Williams, during an interview with Game Informer. Williams confirmed they based Thor's look on how he was described in the mythology - a "wall of god" even if he doesn't have the muscular physique seen in his Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) counterpart.

That said, during Avengers: Endgame, Thor looked almost the same as the game version after he became an alcoholic in the movie.

“I think there’s something so fantastic in that that not everything needs to be this glistening muscle hulk kind of concept to still be fantastic and powerful and intimidating. I wanted him to almost feel like a man child, you know, like if you had that much power and you can do those things, you're not going to grow. You don't need to. You just do what you want"

As such, this version of the God of Thunder will be one for the books, and we can't wait until God of War: Ragnarok releases on PS4 and PS5. So, make sure to follow us for more God of War news and updates.
