God of War (2018) Has Sold Just Under 20 Million Copies

Since launching in 2018, Sony's God of War has sold just under 20 million copies. Announcing a PC port earlier today, God of War's coming to Steam on January 14th, 2022 and as part of this reveal, Sony outlined their previous sales figures on PlayStation 4.

Revealing this news in a PlayStation Blog post, Sony confirmed:

As of August 2021, 19.5MM copies for God of War on PlayStation 4 have been sold through and we can’t wait to share that experience with a whole new group of players on PC.

God of War (2018) Has Sold Just Under 20 Million Copies

We've not had sales figures since May 2019, when Sony announced it'd sold 10 million copies to become God of War's most successful entry. Having nearly doubled that in two years, it's unsurprising to see them branching out for a PC release before God of War: Ragnarok's release next year.

Today's news follows on from Sony' announcement last month, which confirmed Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy launches on PC next year. Considering NVIDIA's GeForce NOW leak last month listed other prominent Sony exclusives on PC like Gran Turismo 7, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Ratchet & Clank and Ghost of Tsushima, we'd be surprised if there isn't more on the way.
