“You can grow from zero to hero” – David Tonizza reflects on his successful year in the last episode of F1’s ‘Making an Esports Champion’

The grand finale of the New Balance F1 Pro Series is just around the corner, with fans waiting for the champion to be crowned on Wednesday 4th December.

To whet the appetite before we open our doors to the Gfinity arena and welcome fans back for another nail-biting night of esports action, here is the last in the exciting ‘Making an Esports Champion’ series.

In this last episode, Determination, Ferrari Driver Academy’s David Tonizza, one of this season’s stand out stars, takes us behind the scenes to show us how exactly he has been able to, in his own words, “grow from zero to hero”.

Starting the show at Maranello, globally known as the home of Ferrari, Tonizza discusses how he has been able to grow as a player through his training at the Ferrari facilities and the regular advice he receives from his team.

As the UK’s only listed esports company, we renewed our partnership with Formula 1 this year with the aim to create an even bigger, bolder and more entertaining series.

Our work on this series with Formula 1 ran from writing all tournament rules, player and team logistics to delivering all broadcast components of the live events at the Gfinity Arena. It’s safe to say that we’re all looking forward to seeing who is crowned champion this week.
