How to setup Parental Controls
So you’ve just picked up a new PS5 and you just want to play Spider-Man Miles Morales and Demon Souls to your hearts content.
But then your kid wants to hop on, and you feel those and other games aren’t appropriate for them.
If you already have parental controls set up from a PS4 the details should carry over when you add the accounts to your PS5, but if they don’t follow the advice below and you should be sorted.
Here’s how you can set up Parental Controls to help keep your child safe on the PS5.
Step 1 - First off you’ll need to create your own PlayStation account and sign in to your PS5.
Step 2 - When that’s done you’ll need to create a child account for every young person that wants to play on your machine.
Step 3 - To do this Press the PS button on your controller to open the control centre
Step 4 - Select your avatar, then select Switch User.
Step 5 - From here, choose Add User and create a new account.
Step 6 - Account creation will automatically detect if the account is linked to a child based on the age you put in and will attach the account to the parent account.
Step 7 - Once this is done, navigate to Settings on the parent account.
Step 8 - Finally select Family and Parental Controls to be able to review your children’s account usage and the games they are allowed to play!
And there you have it! We hope this guide helps you with your PS5 needs!
