Genshin Impact Xingqiu Build Guide - Everything You Need to Know

The second son of the Feiyun Commerce Guild and a studious practitioner of the Guhua Clan's martial arts, Xingqiu is a polite and well-mannered young man that we meet while we travel across Liyue. On the battlefield, though, this Longsword user functions as a great hybrid DPS/Support unit, making him a great addition to any team thanks to his proclivity to trigger Elemental Reactions in combat.

Xingqiu is obtainable by spending wishes in the Wanderlust Invocation standard banner, and in the past as a pickable option in the Stand by Me event. Good luck obtaining him!

Character Overview, Skills, and Talents

Xingqiu works as a great hybrid between DPS and Support, doing a decent job at both. He can be a good way to trigger Hydro-related Elemental Reactions if he’s in the right team, so pairing him with Pyro or Cryo units will be extremely effective.

Normal Attack - Guhua Style

Normal Attack
Performs up to 5 rapid strikes.

Charged Attack
Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes.

Plunging Attack
Descends from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging enemies along the path and dealing AoE damage upon landing.

Elemental Skill - Guhua Sword: Fatal Rainscreen

Xingqiu performs twin strikes with his sword, dealing Hydro damage. At the same time, this ability creates the maximum number of Rain Swords, which will orbit the character.
The Rain Swords have the following properties:
-When a character takes damage, the Rain Sword will shatter, reducing the amount of damage taken.
-Increases the character's resistance to interruption.
20% of Xingqiu's Hydro damage Bonus will be converted to additional damage Reduction for the Rain Swords.

The maximum amount of additional damage Reduction that can be gained this way is 24%. The initial maximum number of Rain Swords is 3. Using this ability applies the Wet status to the character.

Elemental Burst - Guhua Sword: Raincutter

Initiate Rainbow Bladework and fight using an illusory sword rain, while creating the maximum number of Rain Swords.

Rainbow Bladework
Normal Attacks will trigger consecutive sword rain attacks, dealing Hydro damage. Rain Swords will remain at the maximum number throughout the ability's duration. These effects carry over to other characters.

Passive Talents

Hydropathic
When a Rain Sword is shattered or when its duration expires, it regenerates the current character's HP based on 6% of Xingqiu's Max HP.

Blades Amidst Raindrops
Xingqiu gains a 20% Hydro damage Bonus.

Flash of Genius
When Xingqiu crafts Character Talent Materials, he has a 25% chance to refund a portion of the crafting materials used.

Example Builds for Xingqiu

Support Build
Weapon - Festering Desire or Sacrificial Sword
Festering desire is the best option here since it boosts the Elemental Skills, but since it’s locked up behind an event that may not come back, the other best option would be the Sacrificial Sword.

Artifacts - Noblesse Oblige (4 Pieces)
Noblesse Oblige is by far the most appropriate option for this setup because of its supporting abilities and how do they work in a team. Since it triggers after an Elemental Burst, chances are that we’ll see this happening a lot

Hydro Sub DPS Build
Weapon - Skyward Blade
The Skyward Blade and its boosts help our Attack values and Movement and Attack Speed stats as well, making it by far the best option.

Artifacts - Heart of Depth (4 Pieces)
With the Heart of Depth being the more appropriate option for us to obtain since it boosts our Hydro damage, is also possible that it takes a while to complete the set. In that case, we can use Gladiator’s Finale as a fine replacement.
