Genshin Impact has a variety of World Quests that provide insightful information about the many regions of Teyvat and the characters living in it. Some of them are hidden and only appear under certain conditions, and some others are locked behind Adventure Rank and Main Story progression, but all of them reward the player with useful items such as large amounts of Mora, Ascension Materials, and even Primogems.
World Quest - The Festering Fang
This quest will award you with one of the exclusive Dragonspine weapons, the Dragonspine Spear. This polearm has the following stats and effects:
Bonus Stat: Physical DMG Bonus 15%
Skill - Frost Burial
Hitting an opponent with Normal and Charged Attacks has a 60% chance of forming and dropping an Everfrost Icicle above them, dealing 80% AoE Attack damage. Opponents affected by Cryo are dealt 200% Attack damage instead of the icicle. Can only occur once every 10 seconds.
The Festering Fang - Requirements & Location
Activate the quest by picking up a Strange Tooth in Wyrmrest Valley, in the creepy cave full of red miasma. You don’t need any pre-requisite other than having access to the area.
The Festering Fang - Steps
Step #1 - Ask the adventurers at the camp for news
Talk to Iris. She will tell you to talk to Orban since he’s the expert on minerals. While surprised by the circumstances where you found the Dragontooth, Orban will start working on a weapon, asking you to gather the following materials:
- 1 Northlander Polearm Prototype
- 50 Starsilver Ore
- 3 Strange Teeth
Step #2 - Vitalize the Strange Tooth with energy from the heart
Once you gathered those items, talk again to Orban. This time you will need to power up one of the Dragonteeth by infusing him with dragon vitality on the cave that activates this quest. Once you obtained a Vitalized Dragontooth, you must defeat all the Fatui skirmishers and go back to Orban.
Give him the Vitalized Dragontooth ×1, Starsilver ×50, and Northlander Polearm Prototype ×1, and you will obtain the Dragonspine Spear, along with the necessary diagram to replicate and refine the weapon.
