Genshin Impact Diluc Build Guide - Everything You Need to Know

Diluc is one of the first characters you encounter in Genshin Impact. The owner and bartender of Angel’s Share tavern and the Dawn Winery, he's a rich nobleman by birth and descendant of Ragnvindr, the Dawn Knight. This stoic character also has an alter ego, a vigilante persona named “Darknight Hero”, the nocturnal guardian of Mondstadt. In-game, though, this claymore user is one of the strongest DPS units, a character that functions especially well when you max out his constellation tree, making him a must in any team.

How to get Diluc

Here’s when it gets complicated. Being a 5-star unit, Diluc has a 0,6% of drop chance in the Standard Banner at all times. Of course, you can also wait for him to be featured in an Event Banner with higher chances, but that’s kind of a double-edged sword since there’s no way to predict if that will happen. Regardless of where you decide to invest your Wishes, good luck trying to get him, and if you did, congratulations! Now let’s talk about how he works in combat.

Character Overview, Skills, and Talents

Being a purely aggressive DPS, Diluc doesn’t have the versatility that other units such as Jean or Venti possess, so the approach to equipping him it’s pretty much straightforward. Our recommended builds will be pretty much the same with some variations on whether they emphasize boosting Pyro damage or raw Attack.

In terms of equipment priority, Diluc shines when you build him with 5-star weapons and artifact sets, especially with the “Wolf's Gravestone” claymore and the “Crimson Witch of Flames” artifact set. However, since getting those can take a while, you can use pretty good alternatives such as the Berserk set or the Sacrificial Sword, easier to obtain.

Example Builds for Diluc

Pure Pyro DPS
Weapon - Sacrificial Greatsword
While not as aggressive as the 5-star ones, this claymore it’s easier to obtain and has a skill that works extremely well in this context, since being able to end the cooldown of the Elemental Skill will help to trigger the Artifact set 4 Piece effect (more on that below).

Artifacts - Crimson Witch of Flames (4 pieces)
This set of artifacts not only gives a juicy 15% extra bonus on Pyro damage but also boosts the Elemental Reactions related to Pyro. The cherry on top is the ability to boost its own 2 Piece effect every time we use an Elemental Skill. Simply the best choice.

Pure Attack DPS
Weapon - Wolf's Gravestone
There isn’t really a better Claymore in terms of raw Attack damage. Especially effective on co-op since not only boosts Diluc but also all the party members.

Artifacts - Gladiator's Finale (4 pieces)
Nothing too complex, but certainly effective, using 4 pieces will boost our Attack and Normal Attack damage, making it a great set that isn’t too difficult to obtain.
