Cryo Regisvine - Overview and Location

Cryo Regisvine is a Boss located in the Mondstadt region, located in a circular arena-like structure in the Falcon Coast. It looks like a large, red flower, like an overgrown version of the Cryo Whopperflower. After it’s defeated, the player must consume 40 Original Resin to claim her drops, which consist of various Artifacts and Ascension Materials for several Hydro characters.

Cryo Regisvine - Abilities and Attacks

Opening Phase

Upon starting the fight, the Cryo Regisvine will unfurl from its resting position and stand outright. In this phase, it will use the following moves:

Ice Beams: Fires two ice beams into an overlapping cross pattern.

Homing Icicles: These icicles will follow your character for a few seconds before losing their homing attribute. These do not deal a huge amount of damage, so don't worry about tanking them.

Body Slam: The Regisvine slams itself into the ground three times.

Two Flails and Smash: The Regisvine slashes itself into the ground and attacks with its vines.

In this first phase, either its Eye or its Base Gem are glowing and covered in a shield. Upon breaking, the fight will move to the first transitioning phase.

Transitioning Phase

Upon breaking its shield, the Cryo Regisvine will curl itself up and lay on the ground unmoving. During this time, you have time to attack it with either melee or ranged characters by hitting its head numerous times. This phase lasts about 10 to 15 seconds.

After recovering, it will raise itself up and continue to flail around its body, dealing a huge amount of damage and knocking away any character in melee range. Depending on what shield has last been broken, it will transition into the Outer or Inner Ring phases.

Inner Ring Phase

Upon start, Cryo Regisvine will start to channel Cryo particles and blast them outwards, covering the outer ring of the arena in Cryo and dealing damage to the player should they not dodge.

In this Phase, the Regisvine will attack you in the following ways:

Flail: This is being cast when a character stands too close to the Regisvine's body and will knock characters back into the Cryo floor. This can make your character faint if it hits.

Rotary Spray: The Cryo Regisvine will lean forward and fire a beam of cryo from its corolla for a few seconds, dealing massive Cryo damage to any players caught in the beam. After firing the beam at the spot it locked onto, the Regisvine will proceed to slowly turn around, damaging any player caught in the beam.

Body Slam: The Regisvine will smash its body onto the last position of the player, three times. Afterward, it will remain still for a moment.

Outer Ring Phase

The Cryo Regisvine will start the phase with the aforementioned "Body Slam" and follow it up either with two ice beams or with a barrage of up to 6 Icicle Salves. The shield is breakable again. After that it will slam into the ground and fill it with Cryo, creating an Outer Ring that the player can move around on without being damaged. In this phase, the Regisvine is able to use the following attacks:

Ice Beams: The Regisvine creates two ice beams that hone in on the player.

Homing Icicles: The Regisvine creates icicles that will follow your character for a few seconds before losing their homing attribute; dashing allows you to avoid the icicles. These do not deal a huge amount of damage, so don't worry about tanking them.

Body Slam: Quite easy to dodge, but has to be dodged before it is cast.

Blizzard: This one is the most damaging and most dodge-intensive ability in the fight. It is cast after covering the ground around it with Cryo if you neglect to break the corolla, which will cause the Regisvine to start to let ice rain from the air, aiming at where the player is currently standing.

Cryo Regisvine - Fight Strategy

The idea in this fight is to first break Regisvine's body gem shield before it is able to cast the Blizzard ability. Hitting it with Pyro characters will burst through the shield, skipping the following Blizzard mechanic and making the fight a whole lot easier to do. However, since its movements can be a bit tricky to learn until a few runs later, it’s recommended to prioritize Pyro Characters in your party and characters that can spawn shields to mitigate the massive damage this flower can inflict.
