February 28, 2023: A Cyno re-run banner is live for the first half of 3.5.

Hoyoverse has given us a third trailer focused on the Sumeru region, and this time it confirmed a lot of previously rumoured information. It even gave us a look at the new Genshin Impact Cyno character, the Electro character teased so long ago.

The Sumeru teaser trailer showed us new faces like Dehya, Alhaitham and Nilou, along with new enemies and what we can find in the Sumeru region. It's shaping up to be a huge area with a story to match, and will not disappoint players.

What is the Genshin Impact Cyno release date?

Cyno has his own banner, which is now live in Version 3.1. Candace, a new Hydro 4-Star, also features on this banner. He also stars in a re-run banner from February 28, 2023 to mid/late-March 2023.

What element is Cyno?

In the latest Sumeru teaser trailer, we get a new look at Cyno. Here, we see that he has an Electro Vision equipped. This will make him the second Electro Polearm user in the game, after the Raiden Shogun.

New to Sumeru is the Gilded Dreams set of Artifacts, found in the Spire of Solitary Enlightenment Domain, which adds a serious buff to Elemental Mastery. We recommend this for almost any character, not just Cyno! Other than that, the Thundering Fury will give a great boost to his Electro powers.

Cyno does not have a shield or any healing moves, and is best for damage - so we recommend taking a healer and someone who can provide a shield while you storm in with Cyno's damage.

What do we know about Cyno? Genshin Impact Cyno lore

We first met Cyno as an unnamed character in the Teyvat Chapter Storyline Preview trailer, which released back in September 2020. He is the character appearing after the Sumeru title card, wearing a helm that resembles Anubis. Though we didn't see his Vision at first, we do see him holding a Polearm.

Cyno hails from Sumeru, and is the 'General Mahamatra'. We're not sure what this means yet. Due to his clothing, and where we see him, we can surmise that Cyno will appear in the story when the Traveler arrives in the desert section of Sumeru.

To prepare for the upcoming release of Sumeru, take a look at our new character pages to see who you might want to pull for - we have Dehya, Nilou, and Alhaitham, and a guide to who the Fatui Harbingers are.
