Team Liquid Hosting First-Ever Free Fire U.S. Tournament


Team Liquid and Garena are teaming up to host the first Free Fire tournament open to U.S. players dubbed the Liquid Free Fire Series.

The news comes from a statement Dotesports received, and the tournament’s goal is increasing Free Fire’s popularity in the U.S.

24 teams will compete to earn the title of first Free Fire champion, and registration is open now via the tournament’s Discord server.

Here’s the Liquid Free Fire Series schedule:

  • June 5 and 6 at 2pm and 8pm CT: Open qualifiers
  • June 12 and 13 at 8pm CT: Season matches
  • June 19 and 20 at 8pm CT: Season matches
  • June 26 and 27 at 8pm CT: Final stageTeam Liquid will stream all matches on its Twitch channel.

Team Liquid is an Esports team and media company that describes itself as a leader in “competition and innovation.”

Free Fire is Garena’s mobile battle royale game that, while not as well known in the States and elsewhere, was still one of the most downloaded games in 2020 based on App Annie’s data.

Sensor Tower shows that in April 2021 alone the game was downloaded two million times and grossed $18 million worldwide.
