Ys IX: Monstrum Nox Makes Its Way To The West This July


After Ys IX: Monstrum Nox was introduced to the West early for PS4 players in February, fans can expect to see the title release on PC and Switch early in July.

In North America, the port is coming to the Nintendo Switch on July 6th and followed up by a July 9th release for Europe. Oceanic fans can expect to see the game slightly later on July 16th.

PC players will see the release alongside the NA launch on July 6th.

This release is the newest addition to the Ys franchise where players follow the journey of Adlo "The Red" Christin.

"Adol 'The Red' Christin embarks upon his latest journey in the Prison City of Balduq, where his dreams and reality are intertwined as one. Join him and the Monstrum to battle creatures of the night and shed light on the mysterious curse cast upon themselves."

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is a Japanese RPG developed by Nihon Falcom and is receiving the port via NIS America.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox Coming To The West This July!

The game was initially released in Japan for the PS4 on September 26th, 2019.

It follows the same combat system that was introduced with Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, allowing the player to switch between multiple characters.

New to Ys IX, different characters have different traversal abilities, called Monstrum Gifts, which feature gliding and running up walls. These gifts allow the player more freedom when exploring the world.
