The release of the Xbox Series X/S is just under a month away and fans are looking forward to jumping into the next-gen experience.

There's plenty of new and upcoming games coming to the Xbox including Cyberpunk 2077, Black Ops Cold War and Assassins Creed Valhalla.

However, it is clear Microsoft wants to bring the next-gen experience to the classic titles.

Today, Microsoft announced Halo's Master Cheif Collection will be receiving a very exciting upgrade for next-gen.

Halo's Master Cheif Collection Is Getting A Next-Gen Upgrade

On Xbox's official Twitter, Microsoft announced Halo's Master Cheif Collection will be receiving a next-gen upgrade.

The collection of titles will be fully optimised to run at 120 FPS and 4K across the campaign and multiplayer.

On top this, there will also be split-screen improvements, adjustable FOV and cross-gen support.

This upgrade will be free to anyone who already owns the title or is subscribed to Xbox Game Pass.

This is incredible news for Halo fans and anybody planning on buying the Xbox Series X/S.

The Master Cheif Collection includes 6 games in total:

  • Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
  • Halo 2: Anniversary
  • Halo 3
  • Halo 3: ODST
  • Halo: Reach
  • Halo 4

This should give fans of the series plenty to do before Halo Infinite's release next year.

Let's hope Microsoft continues to bring the next-gen experience to other classic titles.
