The Pacific era of Warzone is coming to an end, much to the delight of some already turning their attention to the launch of Warzone 2. The arrival of Caldera failed to strike a chord with many players, leading to widespread calls for the return of the Verdansk map.

The integration of Vanguard weaponry sparked a huge shift in the meta and despite regular buffs and nerfs, it’s never recovered.

Since the start of Season 4 Reloaded, the community has continued asking for the return of the original map as they master the best Warzone guns. In addition to preferring the original layout, many want a chance to use the Modern Warfare arsenal for one last trip down memory lane before the next chapter of the battle royale begins.

A Modern Warfare LTM?

Limited-time modes (LTM) containing a set of specific weaponry and rules aren’t anything new in Warzone. The early seasons of the Pacific era featured Vanguard Royale, a mode where players relied on Vanguard weapons and equipment in order to score the victory.

With the focus switching to the return of Modern Warfare, Reddit user “bmetcalfenz” suggests an LTM with a focus on weapons from 2019’s Call of Duty title gives players a chance to build their excitement for Modern Warfare 2 without the return of Verdansk. “Would be dope if they did a limited-time event with an OG MW version of this,” says the user.

Plenty of players think the user’s suggestion is a great idea, with some going as far as suggesting a split between all three weapon arsenals. “It’s a shame though, I would love if they did a single-game BR rotation between Vanguard, Cold War, and MW19.” However, others claim that Raven Software won’t introduce a Modern Warfare playlist unless it promotes the upcoming release. “If it isn’t promoting their new game, they won’t do it.”

Raven Software’s plans for Season 5 are still unknown so there’s always a chance a dedicated Modern Warfare playlist makes its way to Warzone. For more on the battle royale, check out the best Warzone SMG to use in Season 4 Reloaded.
