The launch of the Season Two update for Warzone 2 is right around the corner and as the days tick towards its release, Infinity Ward and Raven Software continue unveiling what it has in store.
There’s a lot riding on the success of the next seasonal update for Call of Duty’s battle royale offering. Several members of the community believe the update is ‘make or break’ depending on its success. The return of the 1v1 gulag is one of several adjustments raising excitement levels.
Ahead of the new season, the Warzone 2 developers have unveiled the addition of a much-needed customisation feature that enables even more variety when dropping into Al Mazrah.
Customisable Warzone 2 perk packages in Season Two
Over the course of Season One, Warzone 2 players have the choice of selecting pre-determined perk packages meaning there’s no way of selecting your own combination. On January 25, Infinity Ward published an overview of the update confirming the change much to the delight of fans.
“Season 02 will introduce customizable Perk Packages! This feature will launch with a slightly reduced pool of available Perks, which we may slowly reintroduce over time. We want to navigate this particular feature as carefully as possible, ensuring that all available Perks provide ample utility and remain viable/balanced options.”
With players able to choose any kind of perk combination, there’s every chance one package stands out from the crowd and becomes the meta. Considering the likes of Ghost and Birdseye are extremely popular, it’ll be interesting to see how this particular adjustment affects the game.

On one hand, the ability to customise a perk package is a huge positive, but on the other, having access to a limited selection of perks has the potential to dilute the current selection of packages available.
