It's been over four years since Ubisoft first lifted the lid on Beyond Good And Evil 2. Announced back at E3 2017 reveal, Ubisoft's upcoming prequel has mostly been missing in action ever since outside a few small updates, and those stopped in 2019. It's left fans wondering whether its ever coming.
Now though, the French publisher has sought to address concerns during a recent financial briefing. Mentioned within their Q1 FY22 report, it stated that this “fan-favourite revival” is amongst Ubisoft’s biggest upcoming plans, though we've not even got a yearly release window for it.
Ubisoft Confirm Beyond Good And Evil 2 Is Still Being Developed
Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, Beyond Good and Evil 2's had a troubled development history. Alongside the lack of updates since being revealed, back in September 2020, then-game director Michel Ancel resigned from Ubisoft, with French magazine Liberation alleging Ancel's role in toxic leadership at the company.
Elsewhere, Ubisoft Montpellier are said to have started work on a second unannounced game, as revealed by a LinkedIn post. What that means for Beyond Good and Evil 2 is unclear, though it may not be too long before we find out.
