After Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson announced he was in talks to adapt "one of the biggest, most badass games" into a movie, a report has uncovered that the former WWE Champion is working to make a Call of Duty movie.

The idea of the popular shooter franchise making its way to the silver screen was considered by publisher Activision back in 2015, but nothing came to fruition after plans were shelved in 2020.

Since then, a lot has changed. The publisher has been purchased by Microsoft which may have opened the door for Johnson to star in a live-action adaptation.

The Rock is no stranger to featuring in video game adaptations. In 2005, he appeared in Doom before starring in Rampage in 2018.

Will A Call of Duty Movie Happen?

It's unclear as to whether a potential movie will come to fruition but considering the wide range of stories available through the games, there's plenty of scope for Johnson to utilise for a live-action blockbuster.

With talks about a Call of Duty movie in their early stages, it could be a while until we hear more about what The Rock is cooking.
