The second major DLC in Pokemon Sword and Shield, arriving through the Expansion Pass, is called 'The Crown Tundra'. The Crown Tundra, one of two new adventures, is a new location within the Galar region where players can continue their path to glory as they aim to become a Pokemon Master; it will towards the end of 2020.
After releasing back in November 2019 Pokemon Sword and Shield it has already announced new content. The game was criticised initially for being "shorter" than previous titles, but with these expansions, it will greatly increase the gameplay that will exceed even the original games.

What Is The Crown Tundra?
The Crown Tundra is the second DLC coming to Pokemon Sword and Shield's Expansion Pass (the first being The Isle of Armor).
The theme for this expansion is 'Exploration'.
Your next adventure sees you in the snow-swept realm of The Crown Tundra, where you'll be exploring snowy and mountainous regions.
The Isle of Armor wasn't the only unexplored area of the Galar region in Pokemon Sword and Shield
As was the case in the previous DLC, you will find new Pokemon, characters and costumes as well as strange environments filled with temples.
You'll set out as the leader of an exploration team as you gear up for a brand new adventure.
As you can expect, you will be able to pick up from where they left off in the main game.
What Is The Expansion Pass?
The Expansion Pass will host two new adventures:
- The Isle of Armor
- The Crown Tundra
The Isle of Armor will launch first with The Crown Tundra following later in the year.
The new adventures will collectively bring 200+ past Pokemon to the game - you can find out the confirmed Pokemon here.
Price
The Expansion Pass will cost $29.99 or £26.99 in the UK.
The expansion pass is available for pre-purchase now.
When players pre-purchase they will receive a free Pikachu Uniform and Eevee Uniform that can be equipped right away.
Release Date
The Crown Tundra will release later this year and has been given a broad Autumn 2020 release date.
It's hard to pinpoint a date, game releases tend to come on a Tuesday or Friday.
Based on past Pokemon release patterns, it's likely to arrive on a Friday.
