Take-Two Will Announce A New Franchise Later This Month


Behind famed establishments like Grand Theft Auto and 2K sports games, Take-Two continues to establish its presence in the gaming market.

In order to maintain this momentum, the beloved publisher is planning to announce a completely new franchise within the next few weeks.

Take-Two Will Announce A New Franchise Later This Month

In Q1 2022's earning call, Take-Two is planning to reveal a new core franchise by the end of August.

Take-Two has already introduced Gearbox's unique follow-up to Borderlands 3, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, but it seems like another IP will follow:

2K will unveil details of another exciting new franchise planned for launch during this fiscal year.

With the game set to hit by the end of the fiscal year, it should launch on platforms by March 2022.

2K also unveiled that they are ramping up their output of games in the years leading up to 2023, specifically in "immersive core releases":

Fiscal 2022 is an exciting year for Take-Two, as we embark on our multi-year strategy to deliver a slate of releases more robust than any other time in our Company's history. While there has been some movement in our pipeline, including two of our immersive core titles shifting to later this fiscal year, we remain highly optimistic about our plans, including the introduction of several new franchises.

The publisher is planning to release 19 core games in the next two years alone, which includes a sum of free-to-play titles, sports series, and new IPs:
