Modders have put a lot of effort into making Skyrim feel as strange and silly as possible in the eleven years since it was first released into the world.

These endeavours have done everything from turning giants into Mr T, to making everyone tiny and even plastering Nazeem’s beautiful visage everywhere, helping ensure that - on PC at least - surreal nightmares are only ever a download away.

An equally disconcerting change to the game, which could be the result of modding or simply playing around with console commands, is currently taking Reddit by storm, having left a number of players bewildered.

Have you ever managed to make Skyrim look anywhere near this good with mods?

The thread containing this peculiar incident on the Skyrim subreddit began with a post from the player who experienced it, user Harangutangue, who shared a clip of a giant Roggvir being executed and subsequently having his massive head roll around the streets, simply captioning it: “Roggvir was huge at his execution.”

Some of their fellow Elder Scrolls stans thought this tragic event was quite funny, with user Killer_radio quipping: “Uncle Rogvir’s execution was a big event,” and ekauq2000 joking: “That’s a hell of a Thanksgiving Day parade balloon.”

Others revelled to an uncomfortable level in the brutality of the execution, with user sgtthc observing: “The detail on his innards is great when it’s enlarged like this,” and Parking-Ad-8744 saying of the audience: “Looks like they got tickets to the splash zone!”

Thankfully, user xainatus was a bit more cautious about being excited at what they’d seen, saying: “I'd be afraid of the guy doing the execution. (He) cuts through a giant's head in one slice and with one blade that didn't even touch him,” leading herrcollin to suggest: “He's the anime guy who does the ‘dash slash’ where he zips past you and stands there looking cool and suddenly your head falls off. Clean slice.”

Meanwhile, user ownerofreddit_ had even more of an existential crisis, asking: “Can you imagine how horrifying it would be (during) your first five minutes in a new town to be greeted by a gigantic man getting his head chopped off and nearly everyone watching?”
