Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game returns later this year.
Ubisoft broke the news during its Ubisoft Forward livestream on Thursday.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: Complete Edition
“Huge thank you to the fans who never shut up about the Scott Pilgrim game — not once, ever, even for one second — to let me sleep,” Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley joked on Twitter.
“This game belongs to you. Now please get out of my house.”
In an email to Kotaku, O’Malley said, “At this point, I honestly have very little involvement, other than being a figurehead for the fans. It’s just a historical re-release of the same game. None of the original creators are working on the re-release. I don’t make money off the video game — I never did — but maybe if I’m good they’ll give me some download codes.”
Scott Pilgrim Release Details
It’s launching on PC (including Uplay+), PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and Stadia.
The Complete Edition includes the DLC, two additional playable characters, PvP mode, and more.
Expect it sometime in the holiday 2020 release window.
Ubisoft Forward — September 10, 2020
The re-release was announced at the publisher’s second virtual Ubisoft Forward press event.
Ahead of the broadcast on Thursday morning, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot spoke — in a video posted to Twitter — about the recent allegations of abusive behavior throughout the company.
“We have taken significant steps to remove or sanction those who violated our values and code of conduct,” Guillemot said. “We are also focused on improving diversity and inclusivity at all levels of the company.”
He added that Ubisoft is investing more into its internal program to bring more women and people of color aboard the company over the next five years.
