Sol Cresta was first revealed to the public last August during Platinum Games' Super Summer Festival, giving a target release date of December 9, 2021. But now, things have changed and the game will be delayed, likely into 2022.

Gamepur reports that the announcement about the game's delay was revealed by the creator himself, Hideki Kamiya, during Platinum Games' live stream yesterday titled 'Very Sorry Stream' - somewhat already encompassing the whole point of his talking points.

Platinum Games' Sol Cresta Will Be Delayed

There was no new release date mentioned in the stream, leaving fans to question when it could launch. Though the likeliest answer could be next year since we are just less than two months away from 2022 and Kamiya did state a 2021 launch is "not possible".

Here's a rough translation of what he said on stream (Via Nintendolife)

"The release date for Sol Cresta of December 9th...working hard to make that date, but very sorry but that release date has become not possible. I apologise very sincerely from the bottom of my heart...We are very sincerely sorry for making you wait further.
"...We really do apologise for delaying the game, but some schedule issues, some quality issues that we want to focus on, make sure that everything's right, and we came to the tough decision of delaying the release."

Sol Cresta is the sequel to the classic arcade games Moon Cresta and Terra Cresta all designed by Kamiya. It will be available for the PS4, Switch, and PC platforms once it releases, so make sure to follow us for more gaming news and updates as it happens.
