Although OpTic Texas ended the Call of Duty Vanguard season with a respectable fourth-place finish, the Green Wall is undergoing changes ahead of the Modern Warfare 2 season.

With many thinking the roster of Seth “Scump” Abner, Brandon “Dashy” Otell, Indervir “iLLeY” Dhaliwal, and Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas-Castro would stick for the new season, Dashy and iLLeY have parted ways with the team in search of a new place to call home.

The rumours surrounding which players will join Scump and Shotzzy are flying around as the contract countdown continues to tick. With rostermania in full swing across the Call of Duty League (CDL), there are some surprising names rumoured to join OpTic Texas.

Dashy and iLLeY depart OpTic Texas

On August 17, 2022, the OpTic Texas Twitter account confirmed the departures of Dashy and iLLeY, sending the competitive Call of Duty community into a state of shock. One fan describes the change as “ridiculous.”

With two spots available on the most prolific Call of Duty team, the rumour mill soon started to reveal likely replacements. Current rumours suggest former New York Subliner Paco “HyDra” Rusiewiez will fill one of the spots after leading New York through a miraculous qualification run to CDL Champs.

The other name rumoured to fill the fourth and final spot on the line-up is former Toronto Ultra player and Scotland’s own Cameron “Cammy” McKilligan. Despite a successful Black Ops Cold War season, the Ultra failed to raise the high bar set in 2021, resulting in a roster change.

If the Green Wall decides to recruit Cammy, it would mark the second UK-based player to join the coveted OpTic brand. The first to join the team was Callum “Swanny” Swan, who represented OpTic Nation in late 2014.

Considering there are several months before Modern Warfare 2 launches, there’s a high chance the rumoured names joining OpTic Texas will change as other teams attempt to recruit talent to their respective rosters.
