An Octopath Traveler Sequel Could Be Coming

After releasing as a Nintendo Switch exclusive three years ago, it was a surprise to many when Octopath Traveler was added to Xbox's Game Pass earlier this year.

As the RPG marks a landmark occasion, the game's developers have hinted at more adventures from the contemporary classic.

An Octopath Sequel could be coming

Octopath Traveler hit its third anniversary this week and to mark this occasion, the official Twitter account sent out a celebratory tweet:

Alongside the charming new artwork, the developers hinted at another adventure as seen through the tweet's translation:

Today, July 13th, is the 3rd anniversary of Octopath Traveler! Thank you all very much for your warm congratulatory messages! The development team will work hard so that we can set off on a new adventure with you all!!!

While Square Enix has hinted at the potential for a sequel before, this would mark the first time that the developers have confirmed they are working on a new entry within the series.

Granted, the tweet does not state specific as to whether the installment will be a sequel or spin-off. However, it is safe to assume that the Octopath Traveler family will be expanding.
