Netflix Add Games To Streaming Service, Trialling Through A Poland-Only Test


We've known for some time that Netflix were planning an expansion into gaming. Having previously brought us interactive films like Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, last month saw them announce that former EA executive Mike Verdu would join them for this initiative, and it's begun sooner than expected.

Launching a test that's currently Poland-only, Netflix just added two mobile games to their service, Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3. Currently, that's only available for Android and you'll need to download it first via Google Play, according to official images.

Netflix Launch Poland-Only Test For Games Streaming

Speaking through their Netflix Geeked account, Netflix released this statement:

Today members in Poland can try Netflix mobile gaming on Android with two games, Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3. It’s very, very early days and we’ve got a lot of work to do in the months ahead, but this is the first step.

Elaborating further, Netflix also confirmed these games would feature "No ads, no in-app purchases" and that all included games come with your Netflix membership. While they've not confirmed when a wider launch is planned, we'll keep you informed when we know more.
