With Monster Hunter Rise releasing last month on Switch, focus has begun moving away from it's groundbreaking predecessor, Monster Hunter World. First launched in 2018, World has become Capcom's best-selling game of all-time, selling nearly 17 million copies.
All things considered, it's more surprising that we haven't seen a board game adaptation sooner then, but that's exactly what Steamforged Games are offering. Previously releasing adaptations for Horizon Zero Dawn, Dark Souls, and Devil May Cry, World is next up, and it's already been funded.
Monster Hunter World's Board Game Kickstarter Is Now Live, And It's Already Reached The Funding Goal
Launching their Kickstarter campaign yesterday with a £150,000 target, this ends on April 30th, and backers reached this goal in just under 10 minutes. At the time of writing, they've now hit over £1.6 million, and there's little sign of the campaign slowing down.
This comes with two core sets; Ancient Forest and Wildspire Waste. There's different pledge levels available, allowing you to get one or both sets. You can play them separately, starting as low as £51, but should you fancy combining them, that comes to £211.
There's no confirmed release date yet for the board game, though Kickstarter lists a tentative date in September 2022. Either way, Monster Hunter fans have plenty to look forward to.
