After the release of the remastered single player of Modern Warfare 2 back in March 2020, many players began to wonder whether the third and final instalment of the original trilogy would be receiving a remaster. There have been several rumours surrounding the potential of a Modern Warfare 3 remaster but over the course of 2021, the rumours have begun to quieten down, potentially suggesting that a remaster wasn't in the works.
Although the rumour mill has slowed, a notable Call of Duty leaker has revealed that Activision is still working on a remaster of Modern Warfare 3's campaign and is preparing to release the remaster alongside COD 2021. Here's everything you need to know about the release of Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered!
Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered Release Date
@TheMW2Ghost has correctly revealed information surrounding the previous Call of Duty titles and although leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt, there is every chance that there could be some substance to the rumours. The leaker claims that Activision has broken its contract with Sony which would see the remaster launch on PlayStation before other platforms. With no contract, there is now a possibility of the game releasing across all platforms at the same time.
When Is Modern Warfare 3 Campaign Remastered Coming Out?
If the leak is to be believed, the third remaster of the original Modern Warfare trilogy will release alongside COD 2021 which is still on course for its Q4 release slot in 2021. Considering the first two titles have been remastered, it makes a lot of sense for Activision to release the third title to complete the trilogy. An exact release date has yet to be confirmed but it would be likely for the remaster and COD 2021 to release in November.
It wouldn't be the first time that Activision has decided to publish a remastered title alongside the annual release. In 2016, the publisher launched Infinite Warfare alongside a remaster of the first Modern Warfare title which is the only remaster to feature multiplayer.
