Modern Warfare 2 players demand these iconic Call of Duty weapons return

The Modern Warfare 2 arsenal contains an extensive selection of weaponry giving players limitless options when it comes to building the best loadouts for multiplayer action. Alongside new weapons, there are several that have appeared in previous Call of Duty titles and continue to make an impact.

As the focus switches to the Season Two update and what it has in store, there are several members of the community that believe Infinity Ward is prioritising Warzone 2 over multiplayer while others attempt to debunk a mysterious QR code present on a heavily underrated gun.

The return of classic weapons is nothing new, and there are two unique offerings from past games that players want to see in Modern Warfare 2.

Does Modern Warfare 2 need new weapons?

Instead of adding another gun, Reddit user SkimShadey suggests the crossbow and the ballistic knife would make exciting additions to the arsenal. Judging by the comments, there are plenty of others that want them back too.

For fans of the crossbow, it’s good news. According to numerous leaks, the weapon is making its way back to multiplayer in the not-too-distant future. Early signs suggest it’s one of several weapons arriving in Season Two but as with most leaks, it’s best to take them with a pinch of salt until official confirmation appears.

Having an alternative to the usual selection of guns provides plenty of opportunity to score incredible highlights. “I love the unconventional weapons and game modes in cod games,” reveals one fan. “They should add more stuff like this at the launch of games and not make the player base lose interest.”

As for the ballistic knife, there’s less of a demand but some want it as an attachment rather than a separate weapon. “It’d be unconventional but I could see it also serving as a bayonet with increased melee damage,” suggests another fan.
