The creations of Minecraft players can range from the wacky to the ingenious, with massive masterpieces like a futuristic cricket stadium, a faithful recreation of GTA Online’s Diamond Casino, or even a working kebab machine being a regularity in blockland.

However, sometimes it’s the parents of these avid architects and designers that end up producing the tastiest of Minecraft-themed works.

In the case of one player’s mother, this came in the form of a cake that’s got the entirety of Reddit salivating and counting down the hours until their next mealtime.

Fire up your square oven, it’s time to turn creepers into cakes!

The thread about this culinary creation in the subreddit r/Minecraft began with user JanLouis1, who shared an image of the tasty treat, captioning it: “made by my mom.”

Reviews of the dish from the brigade of Reddit Gordon Ramsays who immediately rocked up were pretty positive, with user Anonymous22869 declaring: “I believe this is yummy” and MordorsElite adding: “the colour gradients at the edges are really cool!”

User coolpotatoe724 got a little confused despite their positivity, saying: “I don't know if it's food or not but I still want to eat it”, leading jaded-introvert to explain: “It's a cake roll. They can look a bit like sponges, but they're edible.”

Also struggling to tell how to work the oven was user ObviouslyJoking, who said: “I’m not sure what the process was here, but I want to believe your mom owns a cake roll printer.”

Luckily, a few users had enough culinary savvy to be able to appreciate the talents of the cake’s baker, with Banana__Skin saying: “your mom’s dope” and Cookie_Strange adding: “W cake. W mom.”

On the other hand, jaded-introvert had conflicting emotions regarding the post, saying: “I can't show this to my kids . . . this is too high a bar for my cake skills.”
