Marvel's Avengers: War Table Stream Will Reveal Another Hero And Post-Launch Content

Marvel's Avengers is due out on September 4, but developers Crystal Dynamics have got another War Table stream to sneak in before then.

The next event will be on September 1 (6 PM BST, 10 AM PT, 1 PM ET), and "will include numerous world-exclusive reveals, such as an in-depth look at the first post-launch story season for the Avengers Initiative, and the unveiling of an additional post-launch playable hero".

We'll be interested to see which character is shown. While Hawkeye has already been shown and Spider-Man has controversially been confirmed as PlayStation-exclusive, a recent leak seemed to reveal a wealth of new characters.

It'll be interesting to see whether the next announced character is one of those that leaked, which could point to the validity of the rest of the list. Here's hoping there are at least some surprises in store (we're still hoping for some kind of X-Men addition, as unlikely as it is).

The presentation will also show off more information on the progression system, and the more than 50 enemy types we'll be fighting throughout the campaign and post-game content.

It also sounds as though we'll be getting a glimpse of the endgame content (not to be confused with the 2019 movie), and Square Enix is promising that "minds will be blown and wishes granted as some of the game’s extensive slate of additional heroes, villains, missions, regions, and gameplay modes are unveiled, all of which will be made available at no additional cost."

We recently spoke to Scot Amos of developer Crystal Dynamics, and discussed the game's next-gen versions, paid cosmetics, and why we'll be stepping into the shoes of Kamala Khan for the most part. You can check out the full interview here.
