Konami Reportedly Wants to Revive Classic Franchises, Starting with Castlevania

Konami has new Castlevania games in store and a whole lot more, with the first glimpse reportedly coming in 2022. Video Games Chronicles' Any Robinson said the publication's sources told him Konami is eager to transition back into game development and has plans to revive Castlevania, Metal Gear, and more through ports and new games.

Castlevania is first on the list, and VGC's sources said the project is a "reimagining" of the series that could be revealed as soon as 2022.

VGC's sources also singled out Metal Gear Solid as one of Konami's new projects. Despite what earlier rumors suggested, Bluepoint - now a Sony studio - isn't working on the new Metal Gear. Instead, Robinson said an external studio in China is leading production. The new Metal Gear is reportedly based on Metal Gear Solid 3, with remasters of additional MG titles also in development.

Finally, "multiple" Silent Hill projects are in the works, though VGC's sources had less to say about those.
