Konami And Bloober Team Sign Partnership To Work On “Existing And New IPs”


Konami has announced they'll be partnering up with Bloober Team, creating games based on "existing and new IPs". Following news back in February - when Bloober Team's CEO Piotr Babieno told GamesIndustry.biz they were working on a horror IP with a well-known publisher - they've finally confirmed who this arrangement is with.

Speaking in a press release earlier today, Konami provided this statement:

We are excited to work with Bloober Team and other highly regarded development partners to produce games from existing and new IPs. Our alliance with Bloober Team is one area where we are continuing to evolve our approach to game development

Between this announcement and February's comments, its led to speculation that Bloober Team are handling a new Silent Hill game. We've seen repeated rumours that a new project is in the works, though VGC has previously reported that there may be multiple entries in development.

Having developed The Medium, Layers Of Fear, Observer and Blair Witch, Bloober Team's developed a reputation for horror games and separately, they've released a statement confirming this agreement will involve "jointly developing selected contents and exchanging know-how". On paper, they sound like a natural fit for a Silent Hill revival, but for now, we'll have to wait on further details.
