Nintendo saw great success, with Mario Kart 8 holding firm at number 7 for a second month, Animal Crossing: New Horizons continuing to sell, and Super Mario 3D World, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Pokemon Sword and Shield all in the top 20.
Microsoft's Sea of Thieves rounded out the top 20, possibly spurred on by its Pirates of the Caribbean crossover.
Hardware dollar sales rose 112% in comparison to last June, hitting $410 million for the month - the highest June figure since 2008.
Xbox Series S/X were the best-selling platform in terms of dollar sales and hit a new June record, besting June 2011.
Nintendo Switch is the best-selling platform for the first half of 2021 in both unit and dollar sales.
