Unlike recent changes to its gambling rules, which proved overwhelmingly popular among big streamers, Twitch’s ability to throw a good party is seemingly still up for debate.

This weekend saw the platform’s annual convention, TwitchCon, take place in Amsterdam, drawing a host of creators and fans to get together to have a bit of fun.

However, it seems the event has ended up being a bit of a rollercoaster, with a mix of the surreal and the serious.

What did you think of TwitchCon?

Starting off with the main clip that got users on social media questioning their lives, rapper Megan Thee Stallion took to the convention’s stage for a performance on Sunday evening that featured a rather unexpected guest.

Yes, that’s fearsome space warrior Master Chief, star of the Halo series, giving people a hint of the goods that lurk underneath his Mjolnir armour via some slightly suggestive posing, leading many of his fans to denounce the exchange as being “cringe” and to make jokes about Halo Infinite’s rather difficult life thus far.

Unfortunately, not all of that went down at the convention was this lighthearted, with a ball pit at Intel and Lenovo’s joint booth seemingly being the site of a few injuries to streamers.

Among those allegedly hurt was streamer Adriana Chechik, who took to Twitter to say that the fall featured in the video above caused her to sustain a serious back injury which could require surgery.

Several other creators alleged that they’d also sustained injuries at the same pit, with LochVaness reporting a dislocated knee and sprained ankle while another creator was pictured seemingly nursing a foot injury.

As reported by The Washington Post’s Nathan Grayson, these incidents led the pit to be closed early by organisers, with a Lenovo spokesperson having since told Kotaku that the incidents are being investigated.
