FIFA 21: No Crossplay Support On Current And Next-Generation Consoles

EA Sports have confirmed that FIFA 21 will not feature crossplay support.

This includes consoles made by the same company.

For example, a player with FIFA 21 on their PS4 will not be able to play with their friend with a PS5

This has been disappointing for some FIFA fans who want to upgrade a next-gen console.

No Crossplay Support

The information was revealed by the FIFA Direct Communication Twitter account.

Check out their tweet below:

You won't be able to play across console generations or cross-play in #FIFA21. However, you will be able to carry over your FUT progression from PS4 to PS5 and Xbox 1 to Xbox Series X. https://t.co/mUqU3zcAud

Despite the disappointing news, it was revealed that players will be able to carry over their FUT progress across console generations.

This is of course only with console upgrades that remain in the same company.

Crossplay is becoming a feature that players are getting used to and enjoying.

The feature gives players the freedom to play games with friends who have a different console.

Let's hope game developers choose to include crossplay in more titles and expand certain communities in games.
