What Is Everwild?

Everwild is a new title created by the legendary British studio, Rare. The developer has created some incredible games like Conker's Bad Fur Day, GoldenEye, Bajo Kazooie and more.

Since Microsoft bought Rare in 2002, they've been making exclusive titles for Xbox including Viva Pinata, Sea Of Thieves, and, um, Xbox 360 Avatars.

Everwild paints a gorgeous picture, with some stunning visuals and a colourful world, but we're yet to see how the game plays, or anything about the story – making it a potential mystery package for E3.

That said, it could also be years away – with GamesIndustry.biz's Christopher Dring saying the game could be a way off.

Speaking on VGC's 'Off The Record' podcast, Dring explained that “Those games that they [Microsoft] announced - Everwild, Perfect Dark, Fable - are so far away. As in, there might even be a new Xbox (a mid-tier upgrade) by the time those games come out."

E3 2021 COUNTDOWN - June 13

In a new Xbox Wire post, Microsoft announced their E3 show won't be streaming in 4K, instead advising their E3 stream will be in 1080p at 60fps. Despite this, a 4K reupload will be available on the Xbox YouTube channel after the stream concludes.

More importantly, Microsoft outlined a new measure designed to protect streamers for the upcoming show. Microsoft has acquired re-transmission rights to any licensed music featured, meaning streamers shouldn't receive any DMCA takedowns. However, they admit this won't guarantee protection from incorrect claims.

The event, in collaboration with Bethesda, will run for about 90 minutes and packed with new games, world premieres, and more.

“Role playing games, shooters, strategy titles, adventure games, and more are all being built by our first party teams to ensure that there is a steady stream of compelling exclusive content to explore.”
