Elden Ring players are certainly getting a lot of mileage out of the base version of the game while they wait for more news on its highly-anticipated DLC.

From streamers completing challenge runs through the game using Bop-Its, dance pads, and even the electrical activity from their brains, to the wider community repeatedly beating up a Draconic Tree Sentinel using different strategies as part of a meme-worthy trend, the action in the Lands Between continues to be pretty frenetic.

However, with many Tarnished hoping they might get more info about Shadow of the Erdtree expansion at today’s Summer Game Fest showcase, they’ve now paused their boss battling to discuss what they think could be its most important aspect, providing their characters with some fresh drip.

Are you hoping to see Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion at Summer Game Fest?

The desires of the FromSoft fashionistas can be found in a recent thread on the subreddit r/eldenring, which user Existing-Ad4603 kicked off by sharing a picture of the Ringed Knight Armor from Dark Souls 3’s Ringed City DLC and asked whether it’s “weird” that the aspect of this Elden Ring DLC they’re most hyped up about is the fresh threads it might contain.

Their fellow players quickly reassured them that there’s nothing abnormal about desiring some new garms, with user WaifuRekker saying: “I’ve [also] grown bored of the current selection and yearn for more,” while CryptographerLower77 mused: “Honestly, this game has way more content than I can reasonably hope to complete, so it’s the aesthetics that I most look forward to.”

User LalaVilebloodHunter was even more enthusiastic in their gear-based excitement, declaring: “My guy, I'm gonna be playing dress up for ages when the DLC comes out! [We] need a new plate armour that looks at least half as fly as the banished knight drip.”

Others in the thread also shared their outfit-specific hopes for the expansion, with user Thatoneguy567576 requesting: “something similar to Vilhelm’s set [from Dark Souls 3],” while DragorovichGames said: “I'd like a new [assassin-style] armour with a full-face helm, sort of like the night cavalry armour, but with a sleeker feel and a cloak.”

Meanwhile, user BdubH revealed: “I’m really hoping for more [armour] sets with colour cohesion, it’s hard to make a really cohesive [outfit in the base game] because so many colours and metals clash so harshly with each other.”

Regardless of how many times you’ve had to shy away from proudly walking the runways of Elden Ring's Leyndell due to a colour clash, stay tuned for more coverage of some interesting streamers and guides to Shadow of the Erdtree as soon as it arrives.
