Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Gunfire Games has just announced Darksiders III will launch for Switch on September 30th, 2021. Available physically and digitally, that'll cost $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99 and includes both post-launch DLCs, “Keepers of the Void” and “The Crucible."
First launched back in 2018 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, it's been quite a wait for Darksiders III on Nintendo's hybrid console. Considered a departure from previous entries, notably incorporating elements from Metroidvania and Soulslike games.
Darksiders III Arrives On Switch For September 30
Set before the original game, we played as Fury, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, attempting to capture the Seven Deadly Sins. It found a mixed critical reception back in 2018, currently sitting around a 64-70 metascore, and was criticised for simplistic combat.
By putting Darksiders III onto the Switch, THQ Nordic's decision finally sees the series completed on Switch. Darksiders: Warmastered Edition was ported back in 2019, Darksiders II soon followed, and last year, spin-off hack-and-slash entry Darksiders Genesis had a simultaneous console launch.
