While recent weeks gave us a huge blowout on Elden Ring, many fans are still actively enjoying the original Dark Souls. In their wait for a new adventure, some fans taken this a step further through PC modding and now, one fan has created their own fan-made sequel.

Calling this Nightfall, that's based off 2018’s Dark Souls Remastered, creating a new world map, new combat and an original storyline. Inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, it's an ambitious project, and if you're wondering when it'll release, here's everything you need to know about Nightfall.

Release Date

Dark Souls: Nightfall will release on December 21, exactly one month before FromSoftware's Elden Ring launches. That was confirmed within the recent trailer description.

What Platforms Is Nightfall On?

As an unofficial mod, Dark Souls is only releasing for PC platforms. Mods aren't supported on home consoles, meaning owners on Switch, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One are missing out.
